Hello Patriots,

We had another great week at The Fort! This past week, we celebrated a lot of successful students demonstrating Patriot PRIDE. First we celebrated 156 IB/AP students for their achievements in the program last school year. We passed out checks totaling $17,000 to these students! A special thanks to our superintendent Joe Pye and North Charleston Mayor Keith Summey for celebrating with us.

We also recognized students who were written up by a teacher for demonstrating Patriot PRIDE. These students received goodies from the principal, and they were also entered into the Chick-Fil-A Student of the Month drawing. Four students per grade level will be selected to attend the Chick-Fil-A Student of the Month Celebration this Wednesday where we will name our four Students of the Month. One student per grade level.

We have started tardy sweeps, and so far the vast majority of students have been in class on time. The administration feels that loss of instructional time is unacceptable due to tardies. We are currently looking at tardies at the start of the day. We understand traffic can be bad, but we need your help in making sure students arrive to school on time, so they don't miss instruction. For drivers, we will start revoking driving privileges if tardies become a issue in the morning. If your student drives or if you drop your student off, please help us with this.

We had another great week at The Fort! Tonight is Hall of Fame Night at the home football game against Wando. We will be honoring some great Patriots, so please join us as we welcome these Patriots to the Athletic Hall of Fame. Hello Patriots,

We had another successful week at The Fort. As the administration went around the school, we saw students engaged in meaningful learning opportunities, club activities, and leadership opportunities. We are excited about the direction we have started  the school year. We have a lot of events coming up this week including "Meet the Teacher" Wednesday night from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. Please join us Wednesday and meet your child's teachers. PTSA will also have a table for you to stop by to gather information and sign-up, so swing by and get a bag of popcorn and learn what your PTSA is doing at The Fort. I hope you enjoy the rest of your Labor Day weekend, and we will welcome our students back for another great week at The Fort Tuesday.

We have giving students the first few weeks to learn where their classes are located and the best way to get from class to class. Starting in this week we will begin to implement our new tardy plan. Tardy students will be locked out of class, and they will report to a tardy station to get a pass, and a discipline consequence for that tardy. It's important that all students are in class from bell to bell for academic purposes, but it's also a school-safety concern when students are not in class. Please help us enforce this by speaking to you child about the importance of being in class on time.
