Hello Patriots,

Patriot of the Month Mrs. McNeil
I hope you have a great weekend! Next week report cards will go home with students. Please review your child's grades and contact teachers with questions or concerns. All students who failed for the quarter will have the opportunity to complete quarter recovery in those classes, so please encourage your child to take advantage of this opportunity. The end goal is for our students to master the material, and quarter recovery is one last chance to learn the standards they may have been unsuccessful with the first time.

Friday Oct 27th your student will be bringing home a green Impact Aid Program Survey Form .This is a very important document that must be returned to school promptly. Please review the Survey Form carefully being sure to add all pertinent information. Please have your student return the form no later than Tuesday Oct 31st.

DHEC has offered to extend the time frame for students to receive the flu shot at our school in the next few weeks. Parents may register their students through our school website starting Monday October 30th through November 5th.

Hand Recipient Mrs. McClellan
This week we had our second Chic-fil-a Student of the Month celebration. Five students per grade level were selected randomly from the PRIDE referrals to attend the celebration. At the celebration we announced our four Students of the Month (1 per grade level).

Hello Patriots,

It's been a great week at The Fort! This week we recognized over 300 students with Academic Awards on Tuesday night. Thursday we held a Financial Aid night where our counseling office shared financial aid information with parents and students. This upcoming week we will recognize and reward students who have received pride referrals from teachers.

·      IF you purchased a parking decal, it needs to be hanging in your car.  If you need to purchase a parking decal, please bring your license, insurance, and registration plus $50 to Mrs. Galligan to get the decal.  Any car without a decal hanging in the window will be ticketed.

Student ID’s:  Students do not have to wear their ID’s, but they must have their ID’s on them at all times while on campus.  Students must have an ID to purchase lunch, check out a library book, get locker and PowerSchool information, and to get any items left in the front office by a parent/guardian, etc.  We are not selling temporary ID’s this year. Replacement of a permanent ID will be $5.  Fort Dorchester High School does not allow for any outside food to be delivered to students and this includes food from parents unless it's for a school project.

Parents, students who were failing a class were issued an ILT ticket by an administrator this week. Students who received a ticket have two weeks to go back and make-up assignments or attend tutoring to pull up their grades, have their tickets signed, and return the signed tickets to their administrator. ILT tickets are due back, signed by teachers, this coming Friday. Students who fail to attend tutoring or fail to return the ticket signed by teachers will face disciplinary action. Please help us help your child be successful by encouraging them to return to teachers during this time, during the school day, for tutoring and make-up assignments.
