Hello Patriots,

It's been a great week at The Fort! This week we recognized over 300 students with Academic Awards on Tuesday night. Thursday we held a Financial Aid night where our counseling office shared financial aid information with parents and students. This upcoming week we will recognize and reward students who have received pride referrals from teachers.

·      IF you purchased a parking decal, it needs to be hanging in your car.  If you need to purchase a parking decal, please bring your license, insurance, and registration plus $50 to Mrs. Galligan to get the decal.  Any car without a decal hanging in the window will be ticketed.

Student ID’s:  Students do not have to wear their ID’s, but they must have their ID’s on them at all times while on campus.  Students must have an ID to purchase lunch, check out a library book, get locker and PowerSchool information, and to get any items left in the front office by a parent/guardian, etc.  We are not selling temporary ID’s this year. Replacement of a permanent ID will be $5.  Fort Dorchester High School does not allow for any outside food to be delivered to students and this includes food from parents unless it's for a school project.

Parents, students who were failing a class were issued an ILT ticket by an administrator this week. Students who received a ticket have two weeks to go back and make-up assignments or attend tutoring to pull up their grades, have their tickets signed, and return the signed tickets to their administrator. ILT tickets are due back, signed by teachers, this coming Friday. Students who fail to attend tutoring or fail to return the ticket signed by teachers will face disciplinary action. Please help us help your child be successful by encouraging them to return to teachers during this time, during the school day, for tutoring and make-up assignments.

Hello Patriots,

We had another great week at The Fort! This past week, we celebrated a lot of successful Patriots. First at our faculty meeting, we Passed the Hand and announced our Patriot of the Month. Thank you Mr. Coe and Mr. Weinhold for all you do for our students! We also had a very successful Homecoming week thanks to Mr. Barton and Student Council. Our faculty also had a chance to socialize with one another at our first Faculty Tailgate before the game on Friday.

Parents, interim reports went home with students this week, and please contact teachers if you have questions or concerns regarding grades of your child. Now is the time to catch grades before it becomes to late. Remember that students have ILT (Independent Learning Time) for one hour during lunch when they can go back to all teachers for help or to make-up missing assignments. Students who are failing a class, will be required by the administration to go back to the class they are failing to make-up work or get extra help starting next week. If a student receives one of these tickets, it is mandatory that student reports to their teachers during ILT. Please help us help your child be successful and review grades on a regular basis.

This week we recognized students who demonstrating Patriot PRIDE and were in Good Academic Standing. Five students from each grade who received multiple PRIDE referrals were invited to attend the Chick-Fil-A Student of the Month breakfast. One student per grade level was randomly selected to be the September Students of the Month. We also gave students candy during ILT who had G.A.S. Good Academic Standing on their interim reports.
