Hello Patriots! I hope you had a great long weekend as we honored the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday! Tuesday marks the end of the 1st semester, and report cards will go home on on January 24th. Remember if your child is not being successful, every day during lunch students have an hour to go back to teachers for help and to make up work. Also if a student failed the 2nd quarter, they have the opportunity to complete quarter recovery to bring that grade up to a passing grade.
We are excited to announce the creation of a new club that all students started the 2nd semester as members of, "The Patriots Club". Students will remain in the club as long as they do not recieve a discipline referral. Club members will get free admission to all home sporting events with a school issued ID, as well as, special gifts periodically throughout the 2nd semester. Again all students are members until the receive an office referral.
The month of January marks the annual observance of School Board Recognition Month. The Patriot family would like to thank our school board members for working hard to ensure that students receive the resources they need to be successful in the classroom and in life. This year’s theme “Superheroes for Public Education” appropriately highlights the important role school boards play in championing quality education in our community. The public education of our young people is so important for the future of our community and our nation. School board members give of their time to safeguard a strong education system here in Dorchester School District Two. Fort Dorchester High School salutes the Dorchester School District Two Board of Trustees Mrs. Barbara Crosby, Mr. Justin Farnsworth, Mr. Evan Guthrie, Mrs. Gail Hughes, Mr. Brian Mitchum, Mrs. Tanya Robinson, and Mrs. Lisa Tupper for their leadership and their advocacy on behalf of all children. In honor of their dedicated service to students, we will place a book in our media center in honor of the Board of Trustees.
